The staff at Onward New River Valley is now aligned with the strategies of the Onward 2023 five-year strategic plan. To successfully complete the plan, it is imperative that we have highly-professional, qualified staff and they must align with the goals and objectives of the plan.
These necessary shifts in organizational alignment will add extra capacity to the organization, helping to set Onward NRV up for success to accomplish the long-term plan.
James Cabler has been promoted to Director of Business Engagement. Enhancing targeted industry competitiveness in the NRV is a main function of his role, which includes helping local companies better leverage higher education assets and leaders in the region. James also ensures that Onward NRV has a good investor relations program that engages our investors and builds meaningful regional connections.
Abigail Hammack is also promoted to Director of Marketing & Communications. Abigail’s position will continue to lead digital and traditional marketing efforts and brand management. Plus, While James works on the employer-facing side of talent initiatives, Abigail will cover the people-facing side of initiatives and marketing strategies that focus on talent attraction and retention.
Brooke Love has started as the new part-time Office Manager. Brooke handles accounting, general administration tasks, office operations, organizational governance, event coordination, and marketing support. Brooke’s exceptional support helps the whole office run smoothly. The addition of an Office Manager is a strategy outlined in the Onward 2023 plan, which helps free up existing staff to devote more time to cluster competitiveness and talent initiatives.
Executive Director Charlie Jewell will continue to focus on overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization and the overall execution of the long-term strategy.
