The theme of this year’s symposium was “Partnerships for Autonomy”, and the event took place at the Inn at Virginia Tech. Torc Robotics CEO Michael Fleming was the keynote speaker. Jamey Jacob of the OSU Unmanned Systems Research Institute gave the spotlight address. Onward NRV sponsored the lunch for the symposium and promoted the Virginia’s New River Valley branding.

AUVSI stands for the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International. AUVSI is “the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of unmanned systems and robotics”. The local Ridge and Valley chapter was organized by NRV industry stakeholders “to increase the visibility of the many unmanned systems assets our region offers”.
