Onward NRV Host Inaugural Elevate NRV Talent Event

Onward NRV hosted the highly impactful Elevate NRV talent event at the University Club of Virginia Tech on Thursday April 11, 2024. This half day inaugural summit empowered local employers with insights from industry leaders and experts in talent recruitment and retention.

Katie Boswell, Executive Director of Onward NRV, greeted attendees and introduced the event sponsor, Todd Murray of Ridge View Bank. Todd thanked everyone for coming and invited them to consider Ridge View in their future plans for growth at their companies. Katie then returned to the podium to introduce the keynote speaker, place attachment expert and local author Melody Warnick . Melody spoke about onboarding employees not only to your company but to the New River Valley region. After receiving practical tips from Melody, participants had several breakout session opportunities in the areas of remote work, employee onboarding, workforce infrastructure on childcare, and recruiting college talent. Attendees had the chance to connect with other local employers at the coffee break hosted by Ignite Leadership Consulting Group and the networking hour at the end of the summit. Onward NRV Talent Strategies Coordinator Max Davenport closed out Elevate NRV by thanking everyone for attending and making the event a success.

Elevate NRV promises to be a powerful resource in the talent retention arena, providing expert practices that will impact and elevate Virginia’s New River Valley.
