Onward NRV Hosts Winter Social at Hotel Floyd

Onward NRV hosted their winter quarterly investor event at Hotel Floyd this December.

The focus of the winter social was the food processing and agribusiness industry in the New River Valley. Investors heard about the hemp industry from Kelli Scott with the Virginia Cooperative Extension and Derek Wall from The Buffalo Hemp Company. Kelli shared some of the research happening with Virginia Tech and the variety of products that the hemp industry currently produces while Derek talked about his experience running a hemp company and all of the challenges and rewards that come with the business. Additionally, investors were able to sample moonshine from 5 Mile Mountain Distillery in Floyd.

Thank you to all of those who attended the winter social. Make sure to save the date for our Spring Reception on March 12th! Sponsorships for our events are still available. Contact James@OnwardNRV.org for more information.
