Onward NRV Markets the Region at CES 2024

Onward NRV attended CES 2024 from January 9th – 11th in Las Vegas. This trip was executed in collaboration with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) to market the Commonwealth of Virginia and Virginia’s New River Valley to prospective technology businesses. Executive Director Katie Boswell represented Onward NRV and attended the show with Deirdre O’Rourke, VEDP Business Manager, and Matt Rowe, Economic Development Director for Pittsylvania County.

CES is one of the largest trade shows in the country. This year, there were more than 4,300 exhibitors and 135,000 attendees . During the show, Katie, Deirdre, and Matt met with companies to explain the benefits of locating their businesses in Virginia. The team also highlighted the NRV and Danville’s recent Strategy Development Grant award through the U.S. EDA Tech Hubs program.

Attending CES also allowed Onward NRV to promote the growing Tech/IT sector in Virginia’s New River Valley and connect with NRV businesses that were exhibiting at the show. Katie visited the booths of the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) and Corning. She also attended a panel discussion titled “The Wide World of Drones”, featuring Shannon Nash, CFO of Wing.
