Onward NRV Sponsors Synergy Conference at Virginia Tech

Onward NRV sponsored the first annual Synergy Conference at Virginia Tech on March 1st and 2nd, 2024. The conference was hosted by Virginia Tech’s Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity and was focused on encouraging VT graduate students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields to consider jobs in the New River Valley.

Executive Director Katie Boswell attended on behalf of Onward NRV. She had the chance to interact with student attendees by promoting Virginia’s New River Valley and providing them information about local employers in the Advanced Manufacturing and Tech/IT industries.

Participating in events like the Synergy Conference aligns with Onward NRV’s talent attraction and retention goal from the Onward 2028 strategic plan of retaining college graduates and program completers in the region.
