Onward NRV Attends AUVSI Xponential 2022

Onward NRV attended the 2022 AUVSI Xponential Symposium on Unmanned Systems held on April 25th-28th in sunny Orlando Florida. Executive Director Katie Boswell and Director of Business Engagement Samantha Livesay were in attendance on behalf of Onward NRV.

AUVSI stands for the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International and is “the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of unmanned systems and robotics”

Attending this yearly symposium is one of the ways that Onward NRV supports existing industry competitiveness in the region which is part of Goal 1 in the organization’s five-year strategy. This year Onward also co-sponsored the VIPC Virginia booth with other Virginia based economic developers and Unmanned Aerial Systems companies from across the state.

.Several NRV-based companies were in attendance including Aeroprobe, Moog, and Wing. The region is also home to the Ridge & Valley Chapter of AUVSI, which was formed to “increase the visibility of our region’s many unmanned systems assets and help connect the regional, national, and international stakeholders in this domain”. The organization is also involved in higher education including Virginia Tech’s student chapter.
