Onward NRV Hosts Spring 2023 Tech/IT Leaders’ Summit

On April 18, 2023, technology industry leaders from around the New River Valley gathered for a Tech/IT leaders’ summit at the delightful Hyatt Place Blacksburg/University. During the summit, guest speaker Wendi Pannell, CEO of Pannell Consulting, addressed issues that hybrid work environments present for businesses today.

Wendi challenged the attendees to adjust the skills that were in their toolkit when considering hybrid work. She asked them to think differently about situations, be open with staff and keep checking in about what is and isn’t working. She gave some practical solutions for what good leadership looks like and what the best forms of communicating are in hybrid work environments.

Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive valuable feedback from both Wendi and the other attendees. An important purpose of the Onward NRV Leaders’ Summits is to provide the opportunity for business leaders to work together to solve shared issues and concerns.

Twice a year, Onward NRV hosts Tech/IT Leaders’ Summits as part of the organization’s five-year strategy to promote economic development in the NRV and support the continued growth of the tech sector in Virginia’s New River Valley.
