New River Valley, VA – The New River Valley landed several headline-generating deals in 2021, as highlighted in Virginia Business magazine. An article, titled “Compounding Interest”, describes the announcements and their substantial impact on the region.

In the article, Onward NRV Executive Director Katie Boswell speaks to the industry appeal of relocating or expanding operations in a region rich with workforce potential.

“The theme that runs through all of our announcements this year is how highly skilled and educated the workforce is and what an important thing that is to the companies who expand or locate here”.

Onward NRV strives to continue to stimulate regional job growth and investment in four targeted industries as part of the organization’s five-year economic development strategy. The industries, advanced manufacturing, food processing / agribusiness, information technology, and unmanned systems are growing and expanding in the region. 2,245 new jobs and $463 M in capital investment have been announced in the NRV since the five-year strategy began in FY2018-19.
